Ouray 2009

Monday, July 27th, 2009

We took a trip over the weekend with the neighbors to Ouray, CO.  Tons of off road trips for our rented Jeep and lots of wildflowers.  Our hotel was awesome with hot springs right outside our door and a campfire every night.  We even saw the space station flying by in the night sky the first night we were there.

Yankee Boy Basin

I found a video of the road leading up to Yankee Boy Basin.  This is the one we will be taking….. yikes!  The video is great but the audio is not.

Biking

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Not much to post other than I am biking alot…letting my heel get better.  I ride my bike to work almost every night.  It is 4 miles to work and NOTHING is level in this town, it is all up and down.  So it is a good work out, and I am keeping some fitness going.  Still looking to run the Disney Marathon.  Keep checking for updates, as I will be starting to run seriously again soon.

Great wildflower and fishing trip to Crested Butte

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

Me and the “little woman” took a weekend trip to Crested Butte.  The wildflowers were EVERYWHERE(pictures of them later).  I also did some fishing, and did pretty well.

Florida

Monday, July 6th, 2009

The Disney Marathon is coming up…and it has me remembering last year in Florida.  The family was all together and mom was feeling pretty good.  I was thinking of her alot this 4th of July holiday, and I suppose the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays will be tough this year.  This is a pic of all of us last year.

Noisy wet run

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Another day here in Colorado.  1/2 way through a 5 miler, got stuck in a huge thunderstorm.  Very wet with lightning everywhere.  I thought about getting under a tree, but decided that a moving target for the lightning was a better plan.  Then it started hailing, which was OK as long at it was the small stuff.  By the time I stopped, the sun was out and a huge double rainbow was out.  Awesome!
