Memorial Day golf in Canon City

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Great day of Jeepin and golfing.  Took mountain roads to Canon City and golfed 4 Mile Ranch.

From the golf course, east of Canon City is where “SUPER MAX” is.  All the really bad folks are there.  See the buildings in the middle of the picture?

Phillip and his first game of golf

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

We had our grandson Phillip out here in Colorado for a couple of weeks, and decided to take him golfing last Monday.  He has never been on a golf course before and took a few holes to want to hit a ball.   Once he got started, however, he was having LOTS of fun.

Day at Fossil Trace and back to running again

Friday, May 29th, 2009

First off… I am going to start running again.  My last treatment was a couple of days ago, and time to get back into the marathon training.  September still looks iffy, but hopefully at least the Disney Marathon is still a go.

Went to Fossil Trace today, and what a beautiful course.  Cut through a quarry in Golden , Co.  Lots of fossils around, including the palm impressions on a wall by one of the greens on the back nine.  Check out the rock outcroppings in the fairway.

Golf in and between the snow

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Snowed yesterday and supposed to snow tomorrow, but beautiful today.  So Spencer, Larry and I played a little golf today.  In 9 holes(not counting the last one-ouch!), I was 1 over par with 4-3puts(arghhh!), 2 birdies and a chip in.  It was a tough day, but someone had to do it.  I walked, so count it as a training day.

A little snow on the green. Gotta put around it.

A sand(snow) trap. Snow is coming. Clouds forming at the Peak.
