Monday, July 6th, 2009The Disney Marathon is coming up…and it has me remembering last year in Florida. The family was all together and mom was feeling pretty good. Mother
Thursday, April 30th, 2009My mother died last week, and we have been busy with everything associated with this event. She was a woman who had many long term health issues, but did not let them define her as a victim or cause her to be bitter or full of drama. She preferred to enjoy life and her family and did not let any health issues slow her down much. She was an inspiration to everyone she knew and will be missed very much.
She was not a quitter, and this is a particular inspiration to me. Even though my heel is injured, I will continue to cross train and seek medical answers to this problem. The 1/2 marathon this weekend is not going to happen for me, but I have not given up yet on the marathon in September. If this issue cannot be resolved by September, then the next marathon will be the Disney one in January of 2010. We will see.
Her obituary is HERE.
Florida golf, birds and a baseball game
Tuesday, March 10th, 2009Got to visit the folks in Florida. Me, Kurt and Dad played Pine Barrens on Thursday. Me and Kurt played Tarpon Springs on Saturday and me and Dad played Seven Springs on Monday. Seven Springs was BRUTAL. It was a water park with some greens here and there. Lost lots of balls. Me and dad got to see the Reds and Phillies play on Tuesday, also.
